Instagram Group Profiles: The New Way of Collaborating

Have you been wanting to collaborate and share content on Instagram with a group like you do on Facebook? Well, you are in luck because IG is testing a new feature called: Group Profiles that allows you to do just that.

The Group Profiles feature is going to be very similar to Facebook Groups where you can create a community for a niche topic. A spokesperson from Meta explained this new feature as, "We are testing the ability to join a Group Profile and share Stories, Feed posts, or Reels with group members, so people can connect with others over their interests in a dedicated space."

This new feature is only available in Canada currently, but will make its way to the US very soon.

From your own profile you will be able to create a new group and become the admin. Through there, you can invite others to the group and create rules and regulations to keep it a space that everyone can enjoy! As an admin you can turn on "approve posts" to make sure what is being posted makes sense to the group as a whole.

If you are a part of an Instagram Group, the group posts will show up on your regular feed along with your following posts.

Possibilities are endless with this new feature. You can create a group for your next girl's trip and have everyone post photos and videos they take to it to create a fun scrapbook of your trip! Or, maybe your running club creates a group and shares how far they run everyday!

There are so many ways to utilize this feature, how will you use it?
